Welcome to the Society for Clinical Neuropsychology

Division 40 of the American Psychological Association

The Society for Clinical Neuropsychology (SCN), Division 40 of the American Psychological Association, is a scientific and professional organization dedicated to the study of brain-behavior relationships, and the clinical application of that knowledge to human problems.

Neuropsychology is one of the fastest growing specialty areas in psychology. Over the last decade, neuropsychological research and practice have increased exponentially. As an organization, SCN promotes application of empirical research to advance the knowledge and techniques used in our specialty. It is also active in the development and promotion of education, training, and practice standards.

Today, the Society for Clinical Neuropsychology has over 4,000 national and international members and affiliates. This officially makes our organization the largest of the more than fifty specialty divisions of the American Psychological Association. In 2017, SCN was very proud to endorse the first-ever neuropsychologist president of APA, Dr. Antonio Puente.

As an organization SCN looks forward to continuing to build on the rich history and traditions of our specialty but we recognize that no past progress or future innovation could happen without the support, participation, and dedication of members like you.

Thank you for your interest in The Society for Clinical Neuropsychology. Please explore our website to learn more information about our specialty organization, including our current leadership as well as the numerous committees that represent specific interest areas within the organization. Please visit any of our committee pages to learn more about specific committee activities and resources.
