Dr. Gess currently works as a member of the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology Ethics Committee and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Ethics Committee. Her clinical specialty areas include adolescent and adult neuropsychology. She evaluates conditions including acquired brain injury, epilepsy, movement disorders, brain tumor, and neurodegenerative disorders. Dr. Gess is involved in multidisciplinary teams including at her institution including the epilepsy surgical team, deep brain stimulation surgical team, and the brain tumor surgical team. Her research interest include fMRI and neuropsychological testing in the prediction of postsurgical cognitive outcomes.

Dr. Jennifer Gess has been a memory of SCN’s Education Advisory Committee since 2012. She has strong interests in training on every level and volunteers locally with elementary, middle, and high school students introducing them to the brain and careers in clinical neuroscience. Within UAMS she trains undergraduate research assistants, interns, and postdoctoral fellows. Her goal in joining EAC was to expand that training interest to the national level with a particular focus on helping in the development of a taxonomy for education and training in neuropsychology.
