Dr. Joel Kamper is a board-certified Clinical Neuropsychologist and the Training Director for theg Director for the Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship program at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital (JAHVH) in Tampa, FL. His practice includes serving as the co-lead of the Neuropsychology Consultation/Liaison service, where his primary clinical interests include complex and rare disease presentations and assessment of decision-making capacity; he also sees patients through a general outpatient service, and is PI for a clinical research lab focusing on psychometrics and differential diagnosis.

He has a passion for mentorship and training, and is involved in teaching and supervising and running weekly didactic seminars for learners in neuropsychology at all levels.  Dr. Kamper has volunteered as a mentor for students and early-career neuropsychologists via AACN, AVAPL, and other organizations since 2013.  He also serves on the APPCN Board of Directors, where he chairs the Outreach Committee and serves as the representative to CCTC.  He is additionally a member of the AACN Student Affairs Committee, and recently rotated off serving as the Practice Affairs Officer for SCN’s Early Career Neuropsychology Committee (ECNPC).  Besides training-focused work he serves as the Chair of Item Development for the EPPP-2, and has 10 years of experience in the regulatory side of psychology.  

In his spare time, Dr. Kamper enjoys recording, playing, and listening to music; and competitive sailing.
